Make Good Plasters release ‘game-changing’ white Multi-Skim Finish - 11/05/2020

Make Good Plasters and Fillers this week announced the release of their long-awaited multi-skim finish.

The company started in 2017 with a small range of jointing and filling products, followed by the launch of undercoat plasters and plasterboard. Finally, after collaborating with an experienced team of UK-based plasterers and following thousands of trial development tests, the Make Good team have released their much-anticipated white multi-skim finish.

Make Good Director, Tim Surmeli commented, “The UK plaster market is well established with some products that are very dominant. We really wanted to be able to offer the plasterers a credible choice and at the same time deliver some USP’s of our own. Plasterers have long been screaming out for choice in the market and we have worked closely with them to deliver them just that. Our aim was to create something for plasterers made by plasterers.

This process has been a real labour of love. After three long years in the making, we are so pleased to see our multi-skim come to fruition and be able to add this to our product range. “This is a game changer for the UK plaster industry.”

Developing the perfect Skim - May 2020

For 3 years we have been working on the perfect SKIM – it’s now ready and the first loads went out yesterday.

We started this process 3 years ago with a group of experienced plasterers from around the UK and we’re not afraid to say the first attempt was a real learning curve!
We trialled and tested over and over and by the 453rd(!) batch we were close – we had the texture right, the trowelling up, the drying time on the wall (a standard 2-hour set)… but it was going off too quickly in the pot.
Back to the lab, back to the testing bays and we finally nailed it!
We have now signed off (tested by 40+ UK plasterers) and we’re happy with every aspect.

Due to its pure, high-quality gypsum content, our product requires 17 LITRES of water per 25kg of powder which provides more coverage per gauge, meaning more top-quality product for your money!

It dries white and it’s ready to paint in 48-72 hours (depending on the background).

With all these special benefits, we know this is a game-changer.
It’s different and we’re proud to be different.

The fleet grows - Nov 2019

As we grow, our fleet grows.

You’ll soon see MakeGood branded trucks all over the UK delivering our products to our customers.

The big move- Aug 2019

In Aug 2019, with the launch of Plasterboard and huge increased demand for our product range, we made the decision to move to a new, bigger site in Birmingham.

The new location has the capacity to double and even triple in the future which was a key factor in our strategy as we know in the next 6 months this would be a requirement. The offices were moved to ensure everything is all on the same site with the team growing we needed more space inside and out.

MakeGood launch Plasterboard- Mar 2019

Over the years we have had a huge demand for MakeGood to produce and supply plasterboard. In 2018 we ran trials and in early 2019 we launched our range to the market.

We now supply standard square and tapered-edge boards as well as fire, sound and moisture boards.

These have so far been very well received in the market and the demand is growing rapidly. We continue to develop and drive efficiencies to ensure that we can always provide high-quality products at competitive prices to all our customers.
